Utah is in a Drought

Jun 1, 2022, 12:00:00 PM

Back in April, Gov. Spencer J. Cox declared a state of emergency due to the dire drought conditions affecting the entire state. With this year’s snowpack 25% below normal, nineteen of Utah’s largest 45 reservoirs are below 55% of available capacity.

Although green lawns are beautiful, 60% of residential water use is used for outdoor irrigation. Eliminating just one watering can save 3,000 gallons for the average quarter-acre Utah yard with .17 acres of green.
